Lighting Is Everything

by Tracy Walker

Have you ever noticed two homes that were nearly the same, yet one was a lot more inviting than the other? Often times the big difference in these two homes comes down to the lighting. When home owners use designer lighting in their homes instead of the cheap nothing lights, they tend to feel a lot warmer and more inviting.

Lighting can improve or detract from the appeal of any home. It can also make a statement about the type of design your home is trying to portray. As an example, have you ever seen a Victorian home that had the cheap, stuck to the ceiling lights that are also found in apartments? Not so attractive is it?

Designer lighting can make a big difference in a home. Designer lights can make the exclamation point on the design of your home. They are designed to be functional as well as giving a certain look to the room that they are in.

One style of designer lighting that is popular is the modern style. This is a really interesting and new twist to lighting. It carries with it a feeling of fun and abstract. It makes an artistic statement, saying to guest of the home that the person who resides there has a bit of culture.

Another style of designer lighting is in Ironcraft. This is particularly of interest to an older generation who like the design in everything about their home. Ironcraft has an old look and feel about it, which the older generation likes and which a new generation is coming to appreciate.

The thing about designer lighting is that it brings art back into the design of the home. Rather than focusing only on the functionality, it also focuses on the appearance and design of the lights of a home. This also can be a creative way to put lights in a place that are necessary, but may otherwise look ugly.

Anyone who owns a home with designer lighting in it will tell you how much they love it. They will tell you that it adds to the home a feeling of warmth that is inviting and relaxing. When that same home had traditional lighting in it was not nearly as inviting.

Designer lighting has another purpose and benefit to its use. When used in a home, it can increase the value of the home and make it more attractive to those who are looking to purchase the home. This can be a crucial benefit when in these tough economic times when it is difficult to sell a home.
